Jenny Lou was living in CasaStella with her grandpa Fussi, the village’s taxidermist.
CasaStella was built a long time ago by her grandpa, whom decided to call it that way because of the sparkling Star on the top of the tower’s roof. Under that roof there now was Jenny’s bedroom.
All the rooms were full of stuffed animals, and Jenny was enjoying talking to them every day pretending they were alive.
She had no other friends, all the kids in her school thought she was weird and they didn’t want to stay with her. For instance, when they wanted to play marbles, she used to grab from her backpack a bunch of coloured glass eyes coming from her grandpa’s studio.

CasaStella era stata costruita molti anni prima dal nonno, che aveva deciso di chiamarla così per via della Stella che luccicava in cima al tetto della torretta che ora ospitava la camera di Jenny.
Tutte le stanze erano piene di animali impagliati e Jenny parlava con loro ogni giorno fingendo che fossero reali.
Lei non aveva altri amici perché i bambini della sua scuola la consideravano strana e non volevano stare con lei. Per esempio, quando giocavano a biglie Jenny tirava fuori dal suo zainetto una manciata di occhi di vetro colorati, che il nonno teneva nel suo studio per le impagliature.
One day she comes back form school and she walks into grandpa’s studio for her usual greeting but she can’t find him.
It seems very strange to her, that studio is the room of the house where grandpa spends most of the day working between glue and animal skins.
She tries to seek for him everywhere, but grandpa wasn’t there.
Un bel giorno, tornando da scuola, Jenny va come sempre nello studio del nonno per salutarlo ma non lo trova.
Le sembra molto strano perché lo studio è la stanza della casa in cui il nonno passa gran parte della giornata per lavorare tra colle e pelli di animali.
Prova a cercarlo per tutta CasaStella, ma del nonno non ci sono tracce.
